Trials will Concentrate on Glucose Control, Healthy Joint Function, and Weight Management

TEMPE, Ariz., July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Health Enhancement Products, Inc., (BULLETIN BOARD: HEPI) announced today the beginning of clinical trials on ProAlgaZyme, its leading product which is derived from green algae and comprised of several enzymes. (http://www.proalgazyme.com/). The trial is designed to assess ProAlgaZyme's use for healthy weight management (weight loss), glucose control, and connective tissue function. The Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved clinical trial will be a pharmaceutical equivalent study and will be conducted by Marshall-Blum, a firm that specializes in human clinical trials for the natural products and dietary supplement industries. The trial will enroll approximately 80 subjects and will be a single-center, prospective, randomized, triple-masked, and placebo-controlled, parallel-group clinical trial. Both objective and subjective end-points will be used to assess the product or placebo. All lab work will be conducted by a hospital-based laboratory. It is estimated that this trial will take approximately 4 months to complete.
